Leanne Bremner

Leanne Bremner

Leanne is a business strategy consultant currently working with the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce in the area of governance and corporate responsibility.  Leanne joined the OFVIC Board in 2005.  She was previously involved with several community organizations including the Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP).  Leanne is blind and travels with her guide dog, Syrah
William Findlay

William Findlay

 Born in Toronto and educated at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester N.Y., William Findlay has been a member of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra since 1963.  In 1964 he was asked by Norma Kelly to help with the establishment of an early intervention facility for blind babies.  In 1975 he became the founding board president of OFVIC and again in the 1990’s.  In between (and at present,) he has served as a director.
Susan Hansen

Susan Hansen

As the mother of a son who is blind and who attended the High Park Forest School, she has first hand knowledge of the first rate services and support offered by OFVIC.  A former Hospitality Industry executive, she lives in Mississauga with her husband, son and daughter.  Susan has been on the Board of Directors since 1992 and served as President from 2001 to 2005.
Allan Hobbs

Allan Hobbs

Allan has worked in the advertising industry for over 25 years and was a former part time Instructor at both Seneca and Sheridan College. Since 2000, he has been working for Alliance Atlantis Communications Inc. as a National Account Manger for HGTV, Food Network and Life to name a few.
Allan joined the board in 2003 and currently serves as Vice President and Chair of the Communications Committee.
Samara Polansky

Samara Polansky

Samara is a lawyer from Toronto, Ontario. She was called to the Bar of Ontario in 2005, after articling at Heenan Blaikie LLP. Samara worked as primary researcher for the Canadian Association for Community, as Coordinator for Project Chance, a babysitting service for university students who are single mothers, and continues to work with homeless organizations including the Native Men’s Residence and the Out of the Cold Program. Samara has continued her studies in the area of health and disability in the University of Toronto Master of Laws program, with the support of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research health law training fellowship.

Frank Pantazopoulos

Frank Pantazopoulos

Frank joined RBC Financial group in 2000 and held various positions within the Canadian Wealth Management business unit. He is a currently Senior Manager of strategic initiatives for RBC's U.S. and International businesses. Frank holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Finance and Economics from Concordia University in Montreal and is currently pursuing his Executive MBA at the Richard Ivey School of business. Frank lives in Etobicoke and joined the board in 2006.

Amin Remtulla

Amin Remtulla

With more than 15 years of experience within the Government of Ontario, Amin Remtulla is an individual with in-depth knowledge of the public sector. During his time in Government, Amin has participated in several roles from client services, technical operations to Director of eChannel for ServiceOntario: the Government of Ontario's "retail expert". With a Master's of Business Administration(MBA) from the University of Toronto’s Rotman Business School, a graduate from the Institute of Corporate Directors and a Certification as a Information Systems Security Professional, Amin has focused his efforts on public service delivery and improving the accessibility of services to citizens.


Sylvia Schippke

Sylvia Schippke

Sylvia is presently the Assistant Vice-President of Student Community at York University. Prior to this position, Sylvia was the Senior Director of Human Resources for Bombardier Aerospace from 2001-2004.  Sylvia has a Masters of Social Work and was at the Hospital for Sick Children for 13 years in a number of operational management roles.

Rena Shadowitz

Rena is originally from Montreal, Quebec. She received her Bachelor of Commerce (Finance), Bachelor of Civil Law and LLB from McGill University and was called to the New York Bar in 2000 and the Bar of Ontario in 2001. After articling at the Ontario Human Rights Commission, Rena worked for 5 years as an associate in the corporate law department at Torys’ LLP and just recently joined the Legal Department of BMO Nesbitt Burns.
